1. Creative
Every human has creative energy waiting to come out — it doesn't matter what the end piece looks like. What matters is the act of showing up and doing the thing. 2. Intellectual
If you've felt a loss of progress since leaving school, this is your category. Reading (fiction or nonfiction), learning a language, studying history or philosophy, taking courses, and travelling all count. Don't only choose topics you judge to be useful — follow your intuitive interest, because engagement is more predictive of benefits than anything else.
3. Wellbeing
Physical, mental, and spiritual. Dancing (social, solo, ecstatic), yoga, pilates, gym, running, hiking, swimming, martial arts, rock climbing, meditation, journaling, and breathwork. These connect you to your body, quiet your mind, and build a foundation for everything else.
4. Connection
All about recurring touchpoints with other people. Regular date nights, workout classes with friends, run clubs, pottery classes, hosting dinners, creative clubs, book clubs, hot girl walks. The key word is recurring — one-off hangouts don't build the same thing that weekly rituals do.
