## Plan the experience

Planning estimates, not a price quote or a deadline. Your version may vary.

Time

An afternoon to gather material and write a first version.

Cost

Free with your existing calendar, photographs and a document or notebook.

Where

A quiet table with access to the records you want to review.

## Before you start

Choose a clear start and end date. Gather a calendar, photographs and any notes you already have. You do not need dashboards, perfect records or a rating for every part of life. Decide whether the report will stay private.

## How you would actually start

- Reconstruct the year

Walk through the months and note a few events, ordinary changes and things you actually completed. Separate what the records show from what you vaguely remember. Include responsibilities and rest alongside achievements.

- Write what the year taught you

Choose a few things that went well, things that were hard and things you would repeat differently. Explain why they mattered instead of assigning scores. Acknowledge circumstances you did not choose or control.

- Choose a small next chapter

Finish with a few things you want to make room for, one thing to stop and one thing to preserve. Save the report with the year in its name. Set an optional date to revisit those choices without building another tracking system.

## What counts as done

A dated report captures the year in your own words and ends with a manageable set of choices for what comes next.

Two useful pages can be enough. The report is for perspective, not proof that your year was productive.

When you finish, mark it fulfilled in [My list](https://significanthobbies.com/bucket-list) . You can remember it in your [weekly journal](https://significanthobbies.com/journal) .
