Before you start

Choose a day when essential work or care does not depend on a screen. Tell anyone who needs to reach you how to do so. Accessibility, medical and safety needs take priority; define any necessary exception before you start.

How you would actually start

  1. Prepare the offline basics

Write down addresses, plans and important phone numbers. Downloading something still leaves you using a screen, so choose paper directions, printed tickets or an alternative where practical. Arrange meals and transport without creating extra work for someone else.

  2. Give the day a little shape

Choose a few screen-free options: cooking, reading a paper book, a walk, making something or seeing a friend. Leave unplanned space too. Put optional devices away so you do not have to make the same decision every few minutes.

  3. Close the day with a note

At your agreed end time, write what you did and when you most wanted to reach for a device. Note what helped and what was inconvenient. Decide whether there is one small part you want to repeat, without making a daily rule.

What counts as done

You have lived the agreed day without optional screens, keeping any necessary exceptions you defined. Record what happened honestly rather than restarting over a technicality.

A screen-free day is an experiment, not a claim about health or willpower. Choose circumstances that let you enjoy it.

When you finish, mark it fulfilled in My list. You can remember it in your weekly journal.
