🗂️ Collecting

# Watches

You do not need a five-year plan. You need one honest beginning and enough curiosity to return tomorrow.

## Your watches roadmap

A concrete path from today to three months in. Check off as you go — progress saves on this device.

4 steps

- Mark "Acquire your first piece thoughtfully" as done

Today Step 1

Acquire your first piece thoughtfully

Don't bulk-buy. Pick one thing you actually love and learn its story.

- Mark "Research the field for an hour" as done

This week Step 2

Research the field for an hour

Find the 2–3 best subreddits, YouTube channels, or forums. Bookmark them.

- Mark "Build a small focused collection (5–10 items)" as done

This month Step 3

Build a small focused collection (5–10 items)

Pick a theme — era, artist, region. Constraints make a collection meaningful.

- Mark "Visit a show, store, or meetup in person" as done

3 months Step 4

Visit a show, store, or meetup in person

Online is efficient; in-person is where you actually learn what's good.

What are you noticing? What worked, what didn't, what to try next…
